the drive last night was quite ok, though i absolutely hated the fact that it was dark out the entire time - i got too used to leaving at 7 pm, and getting in around 2 hours of sun-lit driving. mental note - must clean inside windshield - the glare was hell!
also found out my tape deck doesn't work. i'll ask my stepdad if he has a tape head cleaner i could borrow - if that doesn't work, more motivation to save up for a CD player.
and i still haven't gone over 100mph in this car, but i did floor it this time around : ) it felt good : )
i got here pretty late, despite making it in exactly 3 hours and 34 mins after getting into the car in cambridge, and stayed up will around 12:30 talking to my mom. found out our brother-in-law is actually charging us to do our taxes - it made my skin crawl! but on the plus side, i think i got too little back (err, paid too much) anyways, so this is a good time to find out what someone else can make of the mess that is my taxes. though on second thought, i've been working all year, and in the same state as where i live, so they may actually be not-messy for once!
saw abi this morning...
i don't know how normal this is, as she's only a year and a half, but she knows who i am, and that i am family - therefore, i get to do fun things like be nagged to read to her, carry her up and down the stairs, and provide a lap to sit on whenever desired... but, she isn't affectionate enough to me to give a hug or a kiss...
but yeah - she's still absolutely adorable. she hasn't grown much height-wise, but she's definately getting older... the things she wants and how she articulates that has changed drastically, as well as her motions and the way she plays. it also makes me wonder how much having debbie in the house influences those...
also want to mention what a difference being 3-4 hours south makes - trees here are still bright orange, greenish-yellowish and brown, while MA seems to have gone to all deep-red and brown in the last few days. i'm hoping to get to run around in the leaves and take some pictures while i am here...
i'm also debating going to grond zero (or, as close as they will let me get) tomorrow, but i don't know if i am up to it. we'll see...
