and am glad i came back early & got see tobi and scuba online, even if we are all too tired to say much : )
and i had a very good time tonight, surprisingly, considering how shitty i felt all day & how sleepy i am now.
but its all good because by 11am, i will be woken up by a phone call from my grandma, will get up, and do my best to get this house to look somewhat presentable before the grandparents pop in for (their first) visit. of course, i would've loved ot have a little more notice then a phonecall friday evening, but i guess that would've been too sane for my family : )

today...

...was a good day : )

even if it started with odd half-dream weirdness - i woke up at 11am, in panick because my grandparents hadn't called yet, grabbed the phone, and thought i had called my grandparents, found out my grandma was still sleeping too and went back to bed.
only my grandparents had called - the phone simply didn't ring. and i never called them. they never got a call, and my phone didn't show an outgoing call to them.
i was woken up by a call from them at 11:30, managed to force myself out of bed, nagged adam to help me clean, and did some minor sweeping/wiping while he tackled the dishes..
of course, it would take days to get this house to be presentable to my grandparents, and they were quite visibly disappointed in seeing. *shrug* i was kind of expecting that, so it wasn't too bad - i was very happy to have them here, and for my grandma to finally meet the cat - she's the biggest animal lover i'd ever met, and she always asks to hear stories about her when i'm visiting, so it was cool to see her actually see her : )
after chilling here for a little bit, we wandered into central square, and i think my grandparents understood why i choose to live in this area : ) unfortunately, they didn't like the breakfast spot i took them to too much, but again, they were cool about it...
after coming back, i showed them some abi pictures i never posted as well as random here pics, and went with them to where they are staying in needham.
they're actually in town because an very old-time friend of theirs is visiting america from russia, and today is his birthday.
so when there, i saw them interacting - both my grandparents being in good moods, my grandma being flirtatious - it was really nice & refreshing & stuff - in fact, i think that today has been the first time i have seen my grandparents be around each other for over a half an hour and not bicker! and it also gave me some hope for the future - i hope i can have careless, flirtatious fun with my friends when i'm 65!
but, i ended up leaving needham before dinner, as i did realize that a few more hours of inside jokes would drive me batty, and the other option would be to hang out with the (really nice but really overly verbose) six year old - which is not my cup of tea either.

since getting home, i've plugged in my speakers, made 10% headway in cleaning my room & stayed online.
*sigh*
next weekend - definately cleaning lots.
tonight, six feet under and then i should start on confessions of an ugly stepsister if i'm going to try & finish it by next sunday...
