the past couple of days...

this weekend was spent camping with tobi, jedi, goat and another friend of theirs.
tobi, rob and i got to a belated start at like 8pm on friday night. we meant to leave a lot earlier, but all ended up running behind, and then tobi and i had a miserable experience trying to find tent stakes in kmart - long story short, it took over 40 mins and talking to over 4 people, one of whom was the manager. never going into that store again.
the drive up was fairly uneventful, and both tobi and i were very happy to arrive and smell woods & campfires, and i was very amused by the amount of raver toys in the campsite store (nevermind that they had stakes, too).
pitching the tents was fairly easy, and i got to make the first campfire, which made me happy : )
jedi & liz ended up arriving close to 1am, and we then stayed up till 4 or 5am talking around the fire.
saturday was just a lazy day.... i really expected to do more during the day, but after my first (and only) swim around the pond, i layed down on the beach and melted into my towel. i kept almost waking up and thinking i should move myself out of the sun, and then not being able to do so.
eventually, i woke up & liz and i went to go get ice cream and wander back to our site (as everyone else had ditched us ; P ), only to fall asleep again after eating a bit.
speaking of eating - i had found the perfect camping food combo - hummus and tabouli on triscuits. yum!
eventually, i was awken again, we made a run to the NH liquor store, and came back eat, drink & chill by the campfire. good memories : )
on sunday we just woke up, packed up & left - but thats to be expected.
and i did come back feeling rested and relaxed. unfortunately, i have yet to finish unpacking my car *ducks*

came home to find a new roomate here. i haven't really had time to adjust to her presence yet, but i'm hoping everything will work out well : )

today has just been a long day.
went to work on less then 4 hours of sleep (think i overslept on saturday??), ran to school after work because i brainfarted and thought class starts at 5:30 and i needed to drop by the bookstore.
well, went to the bookstore and the book wasn't there, still.
ran back to my car and parked it on the school lot, thinking i didn't have the time to park it where it would be free, only to rush up to class and feel like a total jackass. but i guess its better to be early then late *sigh*
class was rough.
better then last time, but the professor is still hard to listen to.
the midterm is a week from wednesday, and as half the class doesn't have books yet, it will mostly be on his lectures. i'm thinking the test will be wicked easy or impossible, because he'll either test us on what he's told us or compltely overestimate his lecturing abilities. also need to come up with a research/summary paper topic for next class - i have a couple of ideas bouncing around my head, but haven't settled on any one just yet.

and i got home around 9 and have just been vegging since.
i'm actually surprised i'm still awake.
