back from the weekend..

the weekend was good : )
sol3 and i left a little later then planned, but there was no way we were going to make it there before sundown, so it was no big deal. the drive there was pretty uneventful... but unpacking involved an incident of
sol3 getting run into by a golf cart, which i feel really bad about. we set up the tent pretty quickly and moved on to the campfire, which had a (pleasantly) surprising number of people for a friday night.
camping saturdays just rock. there is nothing to do aside from sitting back and relaxing and time moves at a snail's pace. i'm perpetually surprised about how much i've managed to connect with the place.
the promise of a feast saturday afternoon was definately held. it was much more enjoyable for the meat eaters, but i was really happy to have seen it pulled off - 20-odd pounds of fresh lamb, cooked by k., in three different ways.
sol3 said it was yummy.
and the evening was great fun. something i'll hold from it is a quote from
iarwain - "the wind changes, and yulia feels weird" - definately food for thought.
today, we woke up earlyish, packed up pretty quickly to avoid packing during rain, we to breakfast was k. and h., which featured a really confused waitress and not much conversation from our recovering heads, and then coming here.
overall, i think i really needed this last camping getaway... its sad in that it closes the summer in my perception, but it was definately good. and it was extra good to see
bugmanhai be as happy as he was.
and i just ran out of steam....
the weekend was good : )
