elvendoll: (lounge)
I've been sick for the past week+.

It started with the sniffles in Tel Aviv, progressed to some serious nose-leaking in Eilat, got pretty bad on the flight home and was actually worrying me over the weekend. At the same time, it was just sinus trouble and didn't affect my ability to keep on with what I've been doing too much.

This morning, I woke up with my nose still being runny but more normal then it's been in days (I'll spare you the ugly details), but with sickness having migrated down my throat and a bit into my chest. I'm not sure if it's the spread of the ick or the DayQuil I took for it, but I'm feeling totally under the weather today - barely awake, brain-numb and eyes-swimmy. I'd really like my health back, now, please.

On the other hand, I had a pretty decent evening last night. Yesterday was officially my first day working in the office. [livejournal.com profile] sol3 was nice enough to drive me to BART in the morning, and I stayed here a bit late while waiting for [livejournal.com profile] owen to make his was back into town. We met up for dinner, and then went out for a drink - at which time he was enough of a gentleman to not only buy me a drink, but to also drink the damn pear cider I'd foolishly decided to try. Eventually, I started making my way over to Death Guild (and after a brief attempt to orient myself, [livejournal.com profile] sol3 decided to be even more wonderful and just pick me up).
I didn't last too long at DG - the music was weird, the alcohol was hitting me oddly and all I really wanted was a warm and comfy bed after soaking in enough atmosphere-that-makes-me-happy after such a long trip.

And did I mention bed?! While I was gone, [livejournal.com profile] sol3 bought himself an honest to goodness bed! I don't have words for how happy this makes me after 6 months of sleeping on an air mattress whenever crashing at his place.

Tonight, I go home for a night for the first time in three and a half weeks. I have a ton of laundry to do, and some chores as well, but as long as I'm not still feeling like death warmed over, it should be all good.

I also signed up for a class before leaving, and am surprised to not have any emails about it coming in, as it was supposed to have started yesterday.
