the good...
Mar. 13th, 2006 06:34 pmI had a great weekend!
goat!
tcb!
and
sol3 and mini road trip!
We drove through the Mystery House by San Jose, paused at the summit on rt. 17 to throw snowballs in california, and then stopped in Santa Cruz to walk on the (sadly closed!) boardwalk, up the pier to say hi to the sea lions, had some surprisingly good food without leaving the pier, and eventually found our way to a hot tub place. But it had no openings ... so we found another! And while we were waiting for our tub, we had warmed sake at an Irish bar : )
After soaking some of the stress away, we drove to Monterey and promptly crashed out for the night.
Our Sunday started off with a visit to a butterfly sanctuary. It was the tail end of butterfly season there, but this was made up to us with cute deer and pretty birds.
From there, we drove the best part of the 17-mile drive, twice (once there, once back ; ) ), while experiencing the finicky weather (now it's sunny, now it's pouring!)
And then we spent time at the aquarium and walked around cannery row long enough to get warm beverages and realize we weren't up for eating yet.
So, back to Santa Cruz with us, and to a mexican restaurant with $15 pitchers of margaritas! I was happy
sol3 didn't mind driving the rest of the way home.
I got back to a little bit of good news - I got a 99 on the midterm I took on Thursday night!
Of course, the bad is that I still don't have a place to live.
I'm looking at another place tonight, and have no vibe about it yet.
