Random stuff

sol3 and I have survived the last bit of holiday travel for 2007. Getting to Flagstaff was a bit more nerve-wrecking then expected, as US Airways screwed up the checkin process and the security staff were extra curious about sol3's cameras on the Oakland side, and then our luggage took over a half hour to come out on the Arizona side, but I managed to do the drive to Flagstaff without needing sol3 to take the wheel.

Time in Arizona was nice and mellow - just our speed. Among other things, I kicked ass at wii bowling and was introduced to Bones. The latter makes me wonder if there is a Law & Order/CSI knockoff that I wouldn't like (besides, y'know, CSI Miami).

We got back home last night, and the trip was much less eventful.

Christmas itself is always weird for me. It's not a holiday that has any meaning for me, and it's sometimes difficult to separate it from the horrible theme music that gets played everywhere. Luckily, typical Christmas stuff was limited to opening presents Tuesday morning.

I don't know how other people do it, but there's a class of phone calls I really don't like making from the office - and they're frequently the type of calls that can only be made during business hours. So today, basking in an unexpected day off, I have called Geico to straighten out an account issue, two separate dial-up ISPs to cancel accounts created for my grandfather (who now has a cable modem!), CapitalOne to cancel a card of theirs I haven't used in almost a year, a doctor's, dentist's and vet's office to schedule appointments and took my new (to me) coat to the tailor (even if that last one isn't a phone call).

Next up on the list is de-grunging the apartment and possibly even setting up the aerogarden sol3's mom got me.

And, um, I blame certain people on my flist for the daily cookie cravings I've been getting lately.
