well, i made it to NJ alive, in one piece, and in under four and a half hours. considering i was starting from work and it was snowing for the first hour and a half, i'll say that's good time.

i got in, spent some time hanging out with my mom, checked email/lj rather quickly and was sent off to bed.
for the first time in forever, i didn't sleep well in the basement. i was having weird dreams that involved [livejournal.com profile] scuba and [livejournal.com profile] glitterpixy and i going cross-country, only i was going to drive and i was having a bitch of a time finding decent directions and they were being very flaky and [livejournal.com profile] kittypie was on this coast for some reason and couldn't decide whether she'd make it back home in time to see me on the west coast and all kinds of other frustrations.
and i woke up once before it was time to wake up, but then missed my intended wake-up time.

my mom woke me up by coming downstairs with abi. she's getting more "grown up" each time i see her, and its hard not to resent the fact that i don't get to watch that happen - that by now, i've missed seeing her much as a baby and won't be able to get that back. why do babies have to grow up??
she's now in an art class for tots that a friend of my mom's teaches, so i won't get to see much of her until later on. it'll be good to spend some time with her.

it also looks like i won't be able to sleep in much this weekend. tomorrow, i have a massage appointment at 1, and on Sunday, there's a family get together for one of my sisters' cousins that has us leaving the house before noon. both are things i'm really looking forward to, as the massage should do me worlds of good and i haven't seen that part of my (stepdad's) family in longer then i would like, but *whine* sleeping in would be nice, too.

and the only non-perk of working from home is the amount of effort is necessary to get a cup of tea.
