Date: 2003-06-03 01:45 pm (UTC)tinkerbell is a fairy, just as you are a human. tinkerbell would be a certain outfit and attitude.
elves don't have wings. i think fairys are typically pictured as being pretty small.
It this repetitious enough yet?
Date: 2003-06-03 01:53 pm (UTC)Tinkerbell. You have too nice of curves to be peter pan.
2. whats the difference between tinkerbell and just a fairy?
Tinkerbell is a fairy, not every fairy is tinkerbell.
3. whats the difference between an elf and a fairy?
Size (fairies are smaller), wings (elves don't have them), and magical ability (fairies are VERY magical and rely on it, while elves often rely on more mundane things like bows and arrows).

Date: 2003-06-03 02:39 pm (UTC)2. I'm not sure... she does seem to be some rather specific type of faerie.
3. I think of elves the way Tolkein portrays them - tall, slender athletic woods dwellers with pointy ears. Faeries, to my mind, come in a lot more variety of shapes and sizes, some winged, some not, etc.

i'm all about themed parties!
luckily, my friends are, too, so there's always a sizeable in-costume turnout - its just a matter of picking themes that people can scrape outfits for, as you can't expect people to go shopping for each party.
the last themed party i hosted (not counting halloween, as there's no theme to the costumes) was a glow in the dark party, and with 10 blacklights, some tide and some highlighters, it was definately a success (unfortunately, it didn't lend well to pictures)

Date: 2003-06-03 07:27 pm (UTC)2. Tink is a fairy, as Puff is a Dragon. I think there is just the one.
3. An Elf is a woodland spirit (typically, yes, a fairy) native to Northern Europe (Scandinavia and England, down to Germany and France). Blame the Vikings, and their Alfheim (Land of the Elves, natch). The Norse had a whole sky gods defeating the earth gods (Aesir v. Vanir) theme that was somewhat Greek, but I digress. Anyway, fairies are typically specific nature spirits, of which an Elf is one type, found the world over. I can't think of any culture that doesn't have some (fairies, not elves).
