the past few days...
Oct. 25th, 2003 10:43 pm... have been mostly good, with the only really bad thing that is standing out to me being the fact that i haven't even started my paper.
Thursday night i went to yoga, which felt a little less 'up my alley' then last time, but still good. and it felt good to go. and i did a headstand : )
unfortunately, the 6pm class is hard for me, schedule-wise. leaving work at 5, i got home at 5:40, changed and was on the road again by 5:46, managed to knock off my right side rearview mirror by rushing too much and was a few minutes late to class. i'm thinking that to get there on time, i'll need to start coming in early and leaving a few minutes early on thursdays.
afterwards, i came home, watched tv for a couple of hours, read 60 pages of the book i'll be presenting on in mid-novermber and went to bed early - i wish i only watched an hour of tv, but aside from that (and the mirror), it was a good day.
yesterday,
sol3 wasn't feeling well, so our dinner plans got toned down to just nuking stuff at his house, after i did some shopping for a gathering. dinner-time was mellow, and the gathering itself was fun. i got to talk to people, drank wine and ate yummy cheese, played a video game, watched people be naughty and managed to avoid the overintoxication others seemed to catch.
today... has been intense...
in my dreams overnight, the hairdresser told me i wouldn't look good with short hair and let me go.
in reality, i woke up under-rested, made my way over there, and realized that my ability to describe what i wanted was severely lacking - and any magazines were similarly lacking in portraying it. after some time spent looking, we finally found something... and i have over 2 feet of hair chopped off.
i can't decide if i like it.
it isn't how i thought it would be, which is somewhat disappointing...
it is similar to my mother's cut, which is somewhat disturbing...
but i think it looks okay, and the hairdresser cut hair bit by bit, so i got glances of what it will look like as it grows out, and i'm looking forward to it : )
the whole experience took a bit longer then i expected, so i didn't get home till 7. i then watched tv for a couple of hours, spent some time staring at the paper assignment, picked out some clothing for r. to wear on halloween and wrote this.
i have picked a paper topic, but usually, once i do that, the thesis starts coming together in my head, while right now, my head's blank (and a little achy)
i think that if i don't get writing in the next half hour, i'll go back to reading their eyes were watching god
