Oct. 30th, 2003 11:32 amyesterday was a mellow day...
on the way home, i stopped by trader joe's, popped into
spud's work for a few, and then went to osco to see what i can find for my hair.
i walked out with $30 worth of stuff... and then spent over a half hour playing with some of it.
the results:
first, i realized the biggest issue with this cut is that the top is too long to be properly manageable. within the next two weeks, i get to decide if i want it trimmed more, or if i should just wait until it grows to the next level.
second, was that i can't seem to get the hair to a good point without being frustrated for about a half hour. that has got to change.
sol3 came over, and i asked him to take some pictures of what i ended up with... so of course the camera batteries start dying. two pictures that he did manage to take:

later on in the night, i found that what i seemed to feel most comfortable with is having most of the top hair clipped back, so whenever i have time, i'm going to look for clips that are more likely to stay put then the ones i got.
sol3 and i had dinner and then retired to my room to work on stuff; workwork for him and school reading for me. i finished reading their eyes were watching god, and it'd prolly do me good to look up some reviews and jot down notes before meeting with my presentation-buddies on the 11th.
i then futzed online for a bit and went to sleep while
sol3 was still clicking away, but i still got to curl up to him : )
tonight's yoga - anyone wanna come with?
after yoga, there'll be a house meeting, and after that, in theory, i should clean. in practice, i'll prolly be itching to see a movie i haven't seen yet, because when i watch tv, i pick things that aren't full-attention-span commitments so that i have more of a chance of pulling myself away and doing something productive - but i do have all day tomorrow to clean, and i have no homework i need to be doing (*bounce*) so i should have time to actually watch something interesting. (of course, i could start on the reading for 18th, but that'd be too smart, right?)

Date: 2003-10-30 08:37 am (UTC)I think your hair looks cute, but actually I like it both ways. I think it comes down to what feels more comfortable to you-- I know for me, that's always longer vs. shorter.

Date: 2003-10-30 08:48 am (UTC)I found it very interesting to see how sugar-coated or vague race relations were in the book, and now want to check the publication dates on other books i've read that are a bit more blunt/honest/straightforward.
& thank you : )
i know i'm more comfortable with long hair (hell, the idea of being in a well-lit, open space makes me a little anxious & aware of the lack of hair), but i think this was more about taking the plunge and pushing myself into an extended period of changes. i'm definately looking forward to when my hair goes past my shoulders again.
