Apr. 1st, 2004 01:24 pmso, i slept in this morning.
apparently, wearing anything other then my 10 year old docs is a bad idea when doing lots of walking. i had worn my newish doc hiking boots for the first couple of days here, and managed to damage something around my knee. now, i'm regretting choosing excedrin instead of ibiprofen as the ainkiller of choice for this trip.
yesterday was a mostly good day - i took a day trip to kutna hora with 4 other people from the hostel - it was really neat to see both the bone church and a czech town outside of prague, but my knee started giving me serious pain about an hour into my time there, and by the time we were heading home i was limping to go forward and in serious pain going up and down stairs.
getting back as a bit of an adventure, as we (and some other tourists) missed the last bus and had to take a bus to a train and then a train to get back to prague. i then headed back to the hostel on my own to give my knee the most rest, and ended up on what had been dubbed as the mystery tram the night before - it is labeled as a 3, but does the route of he 8, and then loops back and does the tram 3 stops. well, i didin't know all that then, and ended up limping around the metro system for well over an hour before finding my way back here.
luckily, my mood was quickly lifted by an outing to a local restaurant with 8 or so other people, and then we came back here to drink and talk.
sadly, now there's only 2 of the people that i'd originally met left. luckily, there's at least one cool person that was new last night : )
today, i slept in in order to give my body and knee a bit of a rest and i'm going to attempt to find ibuprofen, and then try to hit a museum. after today, i'll only have 2 more days here, which seems like such a short span of time.
