because things are rarely perfect...
Sep. 26th, 2005 10:32 am...i had a very good, but bumpy, weekend.
on friday night,
sol3 and i met up with
cuthalion and two of his roommates and saw the corpse bride. i was expecting to be disappointed by it and was very pleasantly surprised - which is always a good thing. after the movie, we went to an italian restaurant i really want to go back to when i am actually hungry, as more then two things on the menu sounded really appealing, but i wasn't hungry at all.
from there, we hung out at
cuthalion's for a while, and then wandered down to a club to see astral projection. the club was actually fairly chill, and up until the dj right before astral projection, i was really enjoying it. but that dj? all i have to say is that i never want to feel my diaphragm shaking like that again. i wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in how sick i felt the next day. after that, astral projection hit the stage at around 4am, and we only stayed for half their set, but it was worth it. and according to the news, we missed an earthquake somewhere on our trek home.
i started feeling a bit sick when we got back to
sol3's place, but managed to fall asleep anyway. when i woke up on saturday, i felt okay for all of ten minutes, and then got really nauseous, light headed, etc. i took the saddest shower ever while
sol3 ran an errand, and then slowly coaxed myself into clothes so we could head out to the love parade.
by the time we made it into the city, i was feeling well enough to be able to appreciate being out, even if i couldn't enjoy it nearly as much as i'd like to have - and hopefully, i wasn't a huge downer for those around me.
the love parade was pretty great, and it's pretty great to live somewhere that does stuff like this.
sol3 and i left the parade a little behind schedule, and because of that and my unwillingness to do anything else until i had a cup of tea, we ended up skipping to tom robbins reading/book signing. a part of me is really kicking myself about it, while another part is okay with it.
we went home and collapsed for a while, made ourselves some dinner, and decided we were too pooped to go to z.'s party. instead, we watched an episode of dark angel, i saw some of the pictures
sol3 took, and went to go pass out.
yesterday, it turns out that we both woke up feeling like a full day of the folsom street fair would be a little too much. once we figured that out, we slowed down the pace of getting ready,
sol3 accompanied me to what turned out to be an amazing brunch find, we stopped into the local bike shop to pick up stuff for both of our bikes (now i have no excuse not to ride to the neighborhood produce store) and headed into the city 3 hours behind our original schedule.
sadly, the camera store
sol3 wanted to hit was closed, but we did enjoy the folsom street fair, and then made our way back home for some putzing, some dinner, and some getting stuff done.
today, it is totally gorgeous out.
