so my mom just called, and told me to reevaluate going to jamaica with my grandparents... saying that if they offered, it means they can afford to take me, and that even though my spedad's mom might be nervewrecking, any number of things on a trip have the potential to be nerve-wrecking, too...

so - have any of you guys ever been to jamaica? if so, how was it?

i actually prefer not to have a link to the friends page - the style i had before the last one (which i never finished, which is why the links were there) also didn't have a link to the friends page - i prefer for the journal page to be seen as its own entity.
besides, its not like the URL to the friends page is that hard to figure out....

i have been to negril twice and i absolutely love it. jamaicans are great people and super nice. beautiful island. incredible water. i HIGHLY recommend. where in jamaica are you supposed to be visiting?

is there anything to do aside from the beach?
do you know if its safe for a girl to go out for a night on the town on her own?

well, negril is pretty isolated. so not too too much else to do from the beach. i mean there is a lot of water sports etc....

as far as night life. there is ricks cafe (fun outside bar on a cliff), alberts (dance club, many of those), and hedonism was right next to where i stayed so there was much to do.

but i wouldn't recommend going out on your own. as nice as jamaicans are some will take advantage of you if given the chance. i would try to have a small group around if possible or at least someone else. but like i said it depends where you are. ;P

the reason i was asking about being out alone is because i am going with grandparents, so having company for nightlife is pretty much out.
*pouts* i guess i'll have to stick by our resort in the evenings - thank goodness drinks are included in the package!

i actually made some good friends who worked at the resort. one guy took us out and he was very friendly and quite a gentleman. introduced us to a lot of locals. it was fun. maybe you'll meet someone else who is staying there as well. which resort are you going to?

your going to love it! :)
