thanks to [livejournal.com profile] owen, i have just ordered enough computer parts (for him) to make (me) a nice new box, while keeping enough parts in the old one to make a linux box (or gift for a relative) out of it *bounce*

and they say credit cards are bad things?! i can have a new computer by next weekend, and not pay for it till the end of next month! how is that bad?

*bounce*

*bounce more*

*goes back to work*

why are credit cards bad? you say they make you bounce eh? a little like rubber checks with a lot more stress and debt to pay off...but you can keep on bouncing...:P

the thing is, i know i will have the money next month. this month's money has all been budgeted out, but next month, i've got enough slack room, and with a credit card, i can have the computer now, pay it off on time a month and a half from now, and not accumulate any debt (or interest charges!).
the idea of credit cards being bad just sounds like another way to remove personal responsibility - like its the credit card's fault that with it, its possible to spend more then you can pay back, rather then the person's fault for not calculating their budget properly...
