is so far going well : )

the living room is 90% done, the dishes are 90% done, and the rest of the kitchen shouldn't be too bad. rough spots are going to be the bathroom and the computer room. the bathroom simply because it's been avoided for so long, and the computer room because so much of the stuff here just doesn't have actual homes...
but making a dent in it is definitely making me feel better - just sat down so i can drink some green iced tea, which should kick the headache i've developed (its prolly an odd combination of caffeine withdrawal and dehydration).
[livejournal.com profile] tobi should be here soon, which will also help, as much from her actual help as from the company - its much easier for me to keep cleaning motivation up when there's someone to talk to : )

on an odd note, i never made mix tapes when i was a kid - somewhere between not having a group of friends and not buying actual tapes, it just never happened. and as i haven't bought any cd's in years (because when i moved out, i realized that i need to prioritize my spending, and cd's got crossed off from the bottom of the list), the cd's i currently have just aren't cutting it for my car-music, and i'm in the process of making myself mix cd's. and i'm doing a decent enough job of throwing 80 minutes of songs together that all mesh (for me, at least) - but i've come to realize that when it comes to picking the order of the songs on the cd's, my mind is totally blank - the software i have organizes them alphabetically and i sit there, staring at the list without a single clue of whether i want to move something, and where.
of course the other big downside of not buying cd's is that there's a ton of music i hear that i like - and i don't know what any of it is.

and i wish i wasn't so sleepy right now : /

I would burn some of my CDs for you if it wasn't for the fact that most of them were stolen. I still have some stuff that you would probably like, though.
