i'm groggy this morning...
i didn't get to bed much later then 'usual', but waking up was a bitch and a half this morning.
luckily or not, the street cleaning announcements gave me enough of an adrenaline rush to get my butt out of bed.

yesterday was a pretty okay day...
went to class after work to get two pieces of good news
- because there were 5 extra credit questions on the multiple choice portion of the midterm, my grade was actually over 100 - and he wrote 'A+, excellent work' on the test itself. i'm amused for two reasons - college professors don't typically gave an 'A+' because an A is the highest a college lets you go, and my first (and permanent) response to this is 'well, he's an easy grader' - i would have been pleasantly surprised by a B+. but, according to the textbook we have, that's listed as a sign of depression (in this case, i think my reaction is correct, though)
-the professor was sick; he had put on a video and left for the day. i, of course, left also. i saved on parking, went to the supermarket to get some treats, and came home to have a leisurely and vegg-ful meal & snack. i think i can live without an hour and a half video that doesn't cover anything he won't talk about.
so, i got myself hummus, tabouli and triscuits at the store. yum, though much yummier without a royally burned (and painful) mouth. no more soups for lunch for me.
getting my butt off the couch took longer then expected, and because of that, i didn't make it to the slam until 10. but, the place was so crowded and overheated that it ended up being okay - it was so bad i had to leave once because i was getting dizzy, and standing for an hour is actually pushing my limits a bit - i am sure i can walk for an hour straight, but i'm not a big fan of standing, and find it icky on my knees and frustrating in general. the slam was decent though. not the best i've seen, but definately good. and you could also definately tell which team was from new york.
after that, he and i made it over to manray. didn't see too many people i knew, and felt sort of off from having spent an hour oxygen-deprived and standing, but it was definately far from bad. and i'd gotten to see the birthday boy, which is always a good thing.
pope tom was nice enough to walk me home at the end of the evening, and i crashed pretty soon after getting home... and i'm not quite sure why i woke up in a rather cranky mood...
