so i haven't written in a while...
my friend kristine from CA had been visiting until 6am this morning, when i had dropped her off at manchester airport.
i am still so tired i really hope i recover before school starts...
... i hadn't seen her in 4 years until this weekend, and so spending time with her ( and her boyfriend richard) was both nice and a little odd...
nice because it is great to be able to feel that we are still friends, odd because we have a bunch of conflicting views and lifestyle habits.
but it was good...
on friday, after having gotten like 3 hours of sleep each, we ended up doing a lot of walking... from newbury st. to the commons, to downtown crossing, then the wharf, the aquarium, fanuel(sp) hall & government center - at which point we were happy to sit down on a trian and let it carry us to dinner...
during the evening, after contemplating going to nantasket we went to see bless the child.
the movie had its icky parts, its cheesy parts and i guess i should be happy that i haven't seen any of the other movies it had stolen parts from - overall it was ok.
by the time we got back i was absolutely exhausted - i had been up since 6am, walked more then i usually do in a week, and had spent over 10 hours around a person i just met (richard). sleep was just a good thing.
yesterday i slept in a bunch, and then went off to delihaus for brunch, picking up tobi on the way, as it was everyone's decision that eating out was called for.
after getting back t the house and finding too many flies in the bathroom to take a shower, we elected to go to the science museum.
until we drove up to it.
and saw how incredibly crowded it was.
and went to square one mall instead.
yeah, how pathetic...
but we ended up having fun walking around, and i picked up a nifty set of wings at the halloween outlet and a 12 inch discoball at spencer's (yay!!)
after the mall it was still too early for dinner, so i decided to try and find revere beach to chill for a bit.
all i'll say is that eventually we found it : )
amd eventually we founnd our way back into town too : )
during the evening we were faced with the 'what to do' dilemma again... and elected to go the movies again... as trying to convince kristine to go to 80's night was just failing...
we saw coyote ugly...
it had a plot!
...though i still don't know if thats a good thing or not..
overall, it was not far from what i expected and was enjoayble to sit through for the most part.
i really wished bill was there with me for it, as having spent a day with a couple and watching that movie at the end just made me really miss him, but he was off in nashua seeing a few of his friends.
and then there's today...
i woke up at 4:30 am after less then 3 hours of sleep and drove to manchester in the dark.
at least it was light out for the drive back to nashua...
then came the traumatizing experience of calling my cellphone (which bill had with him so he would wake up to it ringing and let me into kevin's house) over 6 ti,es before bill picked up...
i felt so stranded... i was in the middle of a dunkies parking lot, all alone and horribly tired, without being able to get a hold of bill or be able to call anyone else i know in the area, as everyone's phone numbers are stored in my cell phone, which bill had...
luckily, after 20 minutes of near tears and one attempt at falling asleep int he car, bill picked up...
for some reason, the phone was just not ringing...
at first i was hurt & somewhat angrym thinking he was just sleeping through it, but i checked the caller id and it did only rng once *grumble*
not happy about that...
and then we tried to catch some zzz's despite bill's hangover and the smallness of the cot we were given - which worked more or less for 3-4 hours.
and i've been up, and not overly awakem ever since... now finally home with bill's friends doug and dex visiting...
and i'll prolly zoom in on parts of this tale later, but right now the shower is calling my name...
