holy bias, batman!

So my sociology textbook has been a bit biased and a bit dumb in places, but when you're trying to sum up all of our society's problems in 500 pages, I figured some bias and dumbness is inevitable. But this gem is so blatant I had to read it over twice to make sure my eyes weren't tricking me. Straight from the book:
globalization is the expansion of economic activity around the world with little regard for national borders.
