elvendollits finally Friday : )
its dark and drizzly out, but i'm glad its Friday. in theory, i have a whole bunch to do over the weekend, but i feel like i need a change of pace. with all luck, this weekend won't be spent like Tuesday night.
yesterday was a good evening.
it started off stressful, as i went to the maul to look for gifts. i love giving gifts, but i hate looking for them. i feel like the right gift for a person should just jump out at you, and when i get something that doesn't jump out, i spend a long time being anxious about whether i got the right thing or if the person would somehow take offense to getting a stupid gift.
and i know its all silly - i don't react that way to gifts, and i don't think i've heard other people react like that... its just there in the back of my head.
but, after that and stopping by the house, the evening included a yummy (even if tummy-upsetting) dinner at a russian restaurant and playing pool.
my family stopped cooking traditional russian food a while back (or at least, stuff that i like from traditional russian food - and of course, its mostly because fried food irritates my stomach) and i'd forgotten just how much i liked russian-style-crepes and fried potatoes *licks lips*
the waiter was amusing. he figured out i spoke russian pretty quickly, started calling me by my first name as soon as he saw it (on my cc card) and according to him, he kept looking at me while we were eating.
playing pool, and doing a quick tour of downstairs of jillians, was fun, too. traditionally, i really suck at pool. i still sucked last night, but less so then on previous attempts, which was a pleasant surprise.
it was also nice to be carless for the evening. the walk to the restaurant was a bit further then expected, but definitely good, and it was refreshing not to spend time worrying about parking.
today has been a good day so far, and i'm hoping it will keep going this way.
i'm toying with ditching my plans for the evening and staying home and being a good kid...
then again, i may also try to get homework done within a reasonable time frame and go out afterwards. we'll see...
