i feel better today.
last night just hit the spot on a number of levels, and i even fell asleep well despite a cup of turkish coffee and red bull in my drinks in the evening.
but yeah - yummy & sociable dinner, good MR outing and good time with him. yay.
more often then not, i wake up a few times during/early morning. i'm neurotic and my head is paranoid that the alarm won't ring, so i usually wake up, panic a bit, tell myself to shut up & go back to sleep & do so. tonight was different. i'd wake up, look at the blinds to see that its dark on the other side, smile at being cuddled and drift back to sleep. there wasn't any paranoia or giving myself shit over it - just mellowness & cuddles. yay.
and i woke up feeling fairly refreshed, too. not chipper, but less groggy then i've been in weeks. left a little later then i should, but i still managed to get my blanket from the dry cleaners (yay) before coming in.
a funny thing happened on the way to work
i'm driving in the left lane, and its clear for like a mile ahead. i'd just passed a bunch of cars, so i was only going 70-75 at this point. all of a sudden, i realize the car behind me is an unmarked statie, so i move over to the middle lane. that lane has a trailer carrying cars about 15 carlengths ahead of me, going a bit slower then i was, but i just took my foot off the gas, not wanting to brake in front of the cop, who'd just followed me into the middle lane.
all of a sudden, the trailer starts braking sharply. as the left lane should still be clear, i turned on my left-turn signal, glanced over to my side (just to make sure noone is racing up), glance back at the rear-view (about to start switching lanes) only to see the cop has his blues on, and is moving into the left lane, gassing it so i can't switch lanes. now, the near-stopped trailer is a bit closer to me now, and i hadn't slowed down yet, so the cop's manuever had me slamming on my brake and screeching to a near-stop to avoid hitting the trailer.
wtf? he saw i wasn't braking and turned on my turn signal. he knew he was doing something wrong, otherwise i doubt he would've put his lights on. since when do cops create accident situations??
aside from that, today is being fairly calm.
tonight, i go pre-oral-surgery shopping. mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, apple sauce and canned pineapples are already on the list, but i can't think of what else to put on there. anyone have any ideas?
ooh. yogurt. yogurt should be good.
in theory, i should also be a good girl and do school reading, but damnit, i want to do something more fun. we'll see where that ends up going.
