i'm trying not to stressstressstess.
still no definite paper topic, but definitely ideas to work with, and the professor also said we don't have to go outside the course material. and, i got his email address.
he said we can take a week's extension without asking, but that doesn't do me any good.
he also gave us the stats: class of 41, 9 undergrads and 6 graduate students.
with the paper being due on the 7th, he told the graduate students yesterday that they didn't have to do it *shakes head*

i'm going to sit down with the shtuff tonight and hopefully pull something out of my ass.

yesterday was a long day.
got out of here at 1:30, made it to the aaa office for 2, only to be told that noone will be available for a half hour, and was asked if there's anything else i could do. i thought a half hour would be a good time to get the third brakelight bulb for my car, and went to do that. bought the light, realized i can't figure out how to put it in, and came back to aaa around 2:20. at this point, there was another couple waiting, and now they were first in line, so i was waiting till 3 to see an agent.
the process was ok, and i managed to make it out of there around 3:40 and make it to the rmv a little after 4. it took around a half an hour to get new plates, etc, and by the time i was getting close to home, i realized that there's no way i can make it to the parking clerk's office before 5, and that i would need the license plates and bulb on/in the car before getting inspected. so, cutting things short, i went home, ate leftover spiced pumpkin ravioli, and rushed off to class (which i was still 5 mins late to because of parking).

class was fine... what he said about the paper took off some of my panic, but it won't be all gone until i'm 2-3 pages in. which will hopefully be tonight.
i realized something i really don't like about taking a class at harvard - there's no vending machines in the buildings. i really need to be able to grab a drink for class, and with my schedule i don't have time to stop at a convenience store somewhere before class - i mean to, just about every time, but it just doesn't happen.

after class, i had yummy sushi with him and we went to see russian ark at the kendall. the movie was definately pretty and i really liked the way it was done, but the narrator and the 'lead character' never sat well with me, so i kept thinking of what else could be done with the wonderful footage.
overall, it was a very nice and relaxing evening - just what i needed to be able to push all the stresses back for a bit and relax

today is going okay, and the sun outside is definately helping.

(this'll prolly re-ruin my mood for a while, but) storytime:
a HS friend was raised in a very christian and straight-and-narrow home. so when her brother got caught smoking pot a year or two ago, the parents decided that he needs more discipline and order in his life, and pushed him into the army.
as of sunday, last they heard, he was on a raid in nasiriya.
