i'm in amsterdam, i'm alive, and i think i'm doing rather well : )

the amount of time i spent between/within airports sucked, but it was obviously well worth it.

i got to the hostel close to noon amsterdam-time, checked in, got almost-settled and went out to find food and wander.
wandered a bit more then i thought i could considering how tired i was, and i like what i've seen of the city so far : )
then, i came back here and crashed for a few hours.
after i got back up, i failed at motivating myself to go back out and just spent the whole evening in the hostel's bar area. the upside is that i met somewhere around 15 people, the downside is that i don't remember any of their names.

i went to bed somewhat early (and am up a bit early, too) and i think i'm the lightest sleeper in the room - hopefully that'll change soon.

oh, and it only figures that i'd end up in the room the hostel cat favors. only this cat's regular meow is akin to other cat's in heat or pain meowing, which is rather disturbing to wake up to in the middle of the night.

but, there's people waiting to use the computer, so i'll babble more later.

...to not remember names & to be unmotivated the first night! Remember -- this is your time & you're not at work on a timeclock or crunching to get a paper done for school. You can do whatever you'd like to do and that includes lounging around & relaxing. =) Good to hear that you've made it safely & are enjoying stuff so far. =)
