Apr. 22nd, 2003 09:44 ami think its time for me to own up to it - i have spring allergies.
this year, now, i have a runny nose, sore throat, post nasal drip and sinus pressure, and the upper part of my head feels fairly clear, which means i don't have a temperature.
last night, i took 2 sudafed and 2 valerian to try and get to sleep and i just took a benadryl. if the benadryl doesn't help, i'll take tylenol sinus and drop by a drugstore for more powerful meds on my way home.
yesterday was a long day; class right after work and picking up roma at the airport between 10 and 11. it was also really nice out - the second Monday (i think) where its been nice enough to leave my car at home and walk to class, which was good. class itself was ok, too... with the sun being out and having been hyper for most of the day, it was the first class i didn't nod off in, though i did fidget a whole bunch. i also realized that may 5th is the last class on the syllabus - that's just kind of scary. also on the scary part is getting my paper back next week - i really took the easy way out with it and am curious how much my grade will reflect that.
the next paper is due may 19th - as far as i know, all he's said about it is that it has to be longer/deeper, and i don't want to think about it right now.
the couple of hours i spent at home were somewhat frustrating - allergies were kicking my ass and the kitchen looked wrecked. i meant to clean it up so it wouldn't annoy me, but only got as far as dealing with the garbage. this is a sign that having a clean house for a few months is actually having an effect on me - before, i could look mast messiness and shrug it off when its someone else's mess - last night, it was actually grating on me.
picking up roma was fairly uneventful - the drive to logan was only 10-15 minutes, i had to wait a bit, and then drove him and r. to their respective homes...
when i got back, i was pretty much as useless as when i left - sorted through the mail from the past week and went to bed.
this morning i woke up with a stuffed up nose, sore throat and the rest of the works. and the weather sucks and the forecast says it won't get better till Friday. phooey on new england!
surprisingly, though, i'm still in a good mood. as much as the allergies suck, its very easy to keep in mind that they'll pass, all the memories from last week are shiny in my head and it feels pleasant to be in my space again. i'm hoping to ride this wave into the evening - its much easier to get myself to clean and do homework when i'm in good spirits and i definitely need to do both of those tonight.
i'm procrastinating a couple of things still... things like dealing with a CS department, calling my insurance to find out why the hell my insurance is $500 more then they told me it would be and figuring out my cash-flow (well, cash-drain) situation. no fun.
but, i do have fun things to look forward to. seeing her soon is definitely a happy thought : )
