May. 5th, 2003 04:47 pmso, there were two bad parts to this weekend:
1. motion sickness. after needing to sit on a lap for the trafficky ride to oakland on Friday afternoon, i kept getting motion sickness when driven around in cars. i'm really hoping this passes soon - i haven't had motion sickness since i was 11 and i don't want it back.
2. having to leave. i was going with the flow yesterday - its a little harder today.
the part that made coming back more tolerable was a last-minute flight change that had
sol3 and i on a direct flight, getting into boston 2 hours ahead of schedule, and sharing 3 seats in the back row of the plane.
the good stuff? where do i start...
seeing
kittypie was great, as always
the gallery opening was one of those things where i knew it would be special ahead of time, felt like it was special while i was there and i'm still basking in the memories. she does some amazing stuff, and i don't get to see nearly enough of it - i'm beyond happy that i got to go, that i got to be there and that i got to see. if she's lucky, all the pieces will sell. if i'm lucky, most will sell and i will get the ones i'd drooled over to grace my walls.
getting to spend time with kira's friends, and then the drive and wander around the city on Saturday.
yummyyummy thai food and wonderful decor in a beer/wine/sake bar that boasted 'no bud, no coors, no miller' and amazingly adorable diner waiter that made me wonder why there aren't places/people like that around here.
clubbing on Saturday night. unexpectedly running into 3 people i know in a club 3,000 miles from home. running into
kaligrrrl, who i've definitely missed and am very happy to have the contact info for.
a couple of cool purchases, even if i wasn't supposed to shop at all.
the too-brief glimpses i got of the pacific.
have i mentioned spending time with
kittypie?
oh, and there's some pictures:

kira and i before the opening

sol3 and i

kira, her friend travis and my back

kira's mom, a boy named john and one of kira's prints in the background

kira and i in the background of a picture of her artfag friends ; )

sol3 and i in the background of a shot

one of the prints i wouldn't mind having : )
and *whine* i don't feel like going to class...
its technically the last one, i just have a bitch of a paper to do after this....
