elvendoll: (sitting)

Friday night, i came home and finally burned some mp3 cd's to listen to in the car - i definitely want more then the 5 or 6 i have now, but the desktop will need to be set up in the computer/storage room before that can happen - which is good motivation to make it happen sooner then later.
then, [livejournal.com profile] sol3 came by as i was making food. i ate, we talked, and then got ready and went to the club. i had a really good night there, but am still kicking myself for missing the roast skit - i really really wanted to see it : / i came home fairly buzzed, a testament to my near-dead alcohol tolerance, as all i had was two grateful deads.

Saturday included waking up on time, doing brunch with [livejournal.com profile] hawver, after which the boys helped me rearrange my room (thank you!) and after that, we went out for a beer.
the bed is a disappointment on a number of levels, one of which being that it is full, and not queen, sized. but, in the short term, that works out well as it doesn't look hideous with my futon mattress on it.
my shoes ended up filling a drawer and a half, and i need to figure out how to efficiently use the remaining drawer space - i'm hoping to get rid of the armoire when that is all done.
some posters got rearranged, i have a very cool fairy poster up over my dresser now, and at some point in September, the vynil hanging and purple lights will need to be redone.
sleeping on something this tall and without a wall-corner did make me feel a bit awkward - i'm hoping that will pass soon.

after all the room business was done, [livejournal.com profile] tobi came by to chat for a little bit, and after that, i dug into homework. i managed to reach richard II in the remainder of the night, and then [livejournal.com profile] sol3 and i spent some time chilling.

Sunday, we woke up late and were slow in getting rolling. [livejournal.com profile] bugmanhai was our saviour, and warned us of the t-storms that his nashua hours before they came to boston, and we aborted the flea market trip which would have proved fruitless.
instead, we went to the garment district, where i found 3 sweaters i won't care to see destroyed, a skirt that i'll hopefully wear after BM and an everyday sundress i'm fairly happy with.
after that, there wasn't enough time to hit costco or home depot, so those will need to be squeezed in later. we did grab taco hell, eat it at my house, and eventually made it over to his house, for an evening of watching tv (yay dead like me), and me working on a crafts project.
much to my surprise, i think i actually succeeded!
when i was looking on ebay for bm stuff, i found these... and then i saw the shipping cost... and after that, i saw the measurements, which are way too huge for me. and then i looked at the picture again, and realized that i already had the fabric to make something similar.
a couple of hours and one bandaid later, i have an almost done skirt -
- i have no confidence in my stitching skills, so i want to secure the bands to the string in another fashion - just debating if that is something that could be done with fabric glue, or if i should torment her or him to see if it could be done with a sewing machine.

today, i can't figure out if i have allergies or a cold, but i have a sore throat, runny nose and feel off.

Question ?
