when all is said and done...
Aug. 22nd, 2003 12:52 am...i have a duffel bag full of stuff.
i hate the fact that i have that much, but the bulk of it is warm things, and i'm scared to cut down on those.
today included some adventures.
early in the morning, i managed to knock my phone off a shelf about two and a half feet off the ground. no big deal, right? ...i've had a phone fall off a moving car before... but, on this one, the external display went dead.
while i could very easily get it fixed, i realized i just don't want a phone that is that flimsy. the people at verizon took a bit of convincing, but in the end, let me walk out with a different phone - even if its one i don't like.
on my to-do list for when i get back is seeing about selling this one to someone and buying a v60 with the money.
also, the air mattress that i was counting on taking to BM is missing a cap. i've known this for a while, and that my sister's mattress uses the same caps. i asked my family if i could borrow the cap, and they said no - that replacement caps are sold in camping stores and i should get one.
well. today, i've been to sears, ski market, decathlon(?) and target - no replacement caps.
deirdre said she'd poke around her house for an air mattress, and if not, it'll be back to target for a new one. if my stepdad hadn't pulled the challah miracle, i'd be rather upset with him.
and yeah, i think i'm pretty much done packing - next will be working fitting everything into final bags with
sol3. surprisingly, i'm not flipping out. i'm not asking everyone in sight "what could i be forgetting?". i think this is partially because i've combed most of my stuff, and partially because i feel like i'm totally overpacked already.
well, aside from realizing that i haven't properly packed for saturday/sunday yet, even though i know in my head what i'm going to wear.
and i had more i wanted to write, but i'm getting way sleepy.
