another day

elvendollsitting through yesterday's class was rough...
i felt a bit better after eating, although the experience wasn't helped by the fact that my attempt to pay my tuition ended in futility - the bursar's office extended hours are over. now, i need to spend a lunch going to campus to pay my tuition.
i'm not a big fan of my professor.
first, i have serious doubts about the relevance of our reading list to the class description - the modern period. not that i think the books are inappropriate, but that they're not the most appropriate books we could be reading.
i don't like the way he leads class.
he stared at the floor in front of his desk for 85% of class. he talks slowly, soflty and with pauses, using unnecessarily long sentences that make class boring. he is quick to dismiss opinions he doesn't agree with, rather then allowing a class discussion to evolve there. and between not saying much of interest, not being able to lead class discussion well and the staring at the floor, which causes him to miss raised hands, its a painful two and a half hours to sit through.
after class, i came home, parked on the couch, passed some time watching other stuff, and then popped some popcorn to watch carnivale - i'm glad i did, and am looking forward to seeing more : )
today is starting slowly. some work stuff is still unresolved, i'm not really on my own yet, etc.
but, i have things to be excited about - there's nothing like planning a trip to get me excited : )
i also realized that i need to get the ball rolling on my January vacation, and mentioned this to my grandparents. on first soundout, it seems like a jamaica trip with them has decent odds, and although i'll be sad to not be able to do a tropical trip with friends, having a free vacation and time with my grandparents will be really good. there's just not enough time for all the travel i want to do!
i have massive errandage to deal with.
and, i was thinking of taking some personal time tomorrow, and then realized i'm in training then. pooey.
but yeah, need to do bankstuffs, schoolstuffs, go to the aaa office to set up renter's insurance, and getting an early start on the trip to NJ would've been good. on second thought - i'm going to see if i can make it work.
