its too fucking cold to be alive.
i can't tell if i'm sick or if its just my body working so hard to keep me from getting hypothermic.

i broke down and turned the heat on, but it doesn't seem to be thinking about warming up, and this house is as drafty as a wooden shack.

and i had a good weekend, but this cold is leaving me way too cranky to write about it.

It's only 53 degrees out, so your body is probably fighting winter acclimatizing. you know how in february 50 degrees feels like a beach day? i've turned the heat on a little, but only to about 60 so that my body acclimatizes faster, otherwise it's a painful transition into winter. the heating drys the air out more, which is counterproductive, cause if it's 70 degreees you'll still feel cold with dry air. humidifiers go a long way in terms of comfort. i'm wearing about three layers right now, and big wooly socks!

for me, 50 degrees never feels like beach weather ; )

i am wearing three layers and have the laptop warming my lap - and was still freezing. what gets me is that cold makes me feel tense, uncomfortable, and unable to concentrate on anything productive - which is turns into a big waste of time...

yeah, i know what that's like. every morning for the last week i've had the hardest time getting going, especially when my hands are cold. sorry you're uncomfortable :(

I find myself pondering...

SAD and depression in general do interesting things to memory - i barely remember how i make it through each fall and winter after they're over - just have specific memories of specific events.

its also worth noting that the average building is kept warmer once winter sets in and heat is on all the time.

That's how I am all the time. I have very detailed memory for specifics, but general stuff gets totally lost.
