i have lines of a poem stuck in my head.
at least right now, i think that is the saddest optimistic statement ever.
in some ways, those words have haunted me since i first read them, during my junior year in high school. and they're appropriate to what triggered them, only in all the wrong ways.
i have lines of a poem stuck in my head.
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind
at least right now, i think that is the saddest optimistic statement ever.
