elvendoll: (sitting)
[personal profile] elvendoll
i didn't even realize how stressed i was this weekend until i got to [livejournal.com profile] sol3's house, after dropping the kitty off at home. all of a sudden, the world felt much lighter, warmer and happier.
taking the kitty home was certainly an adventure; i'm somewhat surprised she still likes me. she was nervous around my parent's house... she grew to like debbie fairly quickly, but neither of my parents are cat people and there was no bonding there - and she was somewhat nervous whenever they were in the same room.
her and abi didn't get along at all. abi got too close once, when the cat was sitting somewhere she couldn't back out of, and abi ended up with the claw marks on her cheek... which was damn unpleasant from all angles. its also a little shocking, because little girl is the gentlest cat i've ever met and has never taken her claws out when interacting with humans before.
i spent Saturday day hanging out with the family moreso then doing homework, which is going to bite me in the ass tonight, but i like chilling with my mom, and debbie got to beat me in scrabble (*hangs head in shame*)
Saturday night, i went out to meet up with someone i haven't seen in 8 years - we were friends in california, not really close enough to keep in touch after i moved, and then [livejournal.com profile] kittypie found her on friendster. i happened to be in town for her birthday and joined her friends (one of whom happened to be someone i knew back in HS, too) in chilling at her house and then going clubbing.
it was definitely a fun and interesting evening. the six degrees of separation thing is just eerie - someone at the party is best friends with [livejournal.com profile] azurhan's cousin. and, scarily enough, the night ended with me in a hip hop club. i felt beyond out of place, but it was an experience.
oh, and i got a $50 sobriety check. i'm beyond unthrilled with that - my headlight was out, i'd bought the replacement one already, and i'm convinced i was pulled over to make sure i was ok to drive, and they decided to make some money off of me anyways. fuckers.

on Sunday, i woke up earlier then i thought i would, considering i didn't get to bed until 5:30am, had breakfast with family, putzed online for a bit, and then took my time getting ready.
the ride home was fairly uneventful... the kitty meowed about the same amount as she did on the way in, but she spaced it out over 3 hours or so - starting heavy at the beginning and tapering off with time. she also spent the ride there in the far back of the car, and on the drive back, she spent about half the ride either on the center console or the dashboard.
she was really happy to get home. she started perking up as i was parking... jumped out of the car and kept her back low to the ground, sniffing things, for about a minute... and then straightened out and followed me to the apartment, and was obviously impatient for me to unlock the apartment door once we got up the stairs.

the next hurdle in limited-roommate-kitty-management is thanksgiving. both [livejournal.com profile] gaelen and i will be away, only i can't take the little feline to vegas. i'm hoping to be able to beg someone to come by twice a day, letting her out and in, while i'm out.

tonight is looking to be a busy night. yoga and/or dinner with [livejournal.com profile] gaelen, a book drop-off/pick-up from [livejournal.com profile] penghuin (i just realized i haven't worn the hat outside of a dream since its been in my room) and a bunch of homework.

I won't be around Thurs or Fri or Sun but I could drop by twice on Saturday if that helps at all?
