more thanksgiving thoughts
Nov. 26th, 2003 12:40 pmto me, thanksgiving has never been about the turkey. for a number of years, it was about getting to light up a fireplace, but that never remained consistent.
i haven't spent thanksgiving with my parents in a long time - i don't think i've ever driven back for it since moving out. the most memorable ones have been spent around other people's love -
kittypie's,
bugmanhai's,
jedi's families and friends.
in some ways, i wish i could go to spend it with
kittypie's family; in my family, family friends are often closer then blood relatives, and there's a number family friends that i feel incredibly attached to, even if i haven't seen them in years - i miss kira and her mom, like i would a sister and an aunt.
but, i'm very happy about the way i am spending thanksgiving. i'll be spending it with new and old friends, with my favorite addiction and with adventure - love, art and adventure, what more could a girl ask for?
