Dec. 23rd, 2003 10:31 ami'm beyond sleepy this morning, even though i went to bed around midnight.
the cats aren't adjusting as well as we'd hope : (
autumnsshadow had mentioned that they got into a tiff in my room (apparently, little girl was protecting my closet), and as i rearranged the blanket to go to sleep, a tuft of miko's hair flew up : /
before then, i'd noticed something: little girl will eat, then the two cats would be near each other & she'll hiss at him, and then throw up.
to make sure she'd keep some food down, i put miko in
autumnsshadow's room, and let little girl hang out and eat while i played online for a bit. then, i took her to my room and closed the door for the night, and miko roamed the house. with all luck, this means she's got some nutrients in her system.
she spent a bit of time staring at the doorknob of the closed door - i think this is the first time she's been "locked" into a room... but about 15-20 minutes later she gave up and joined me on the bed. she was adorable about it, too, because she was insisting on curling up against me, and did so in the crook of my shoulder at first.
she stayed curled up against me all night/morning, which felt nice on one hand, and made me sleep lighter on the other, and was very eager to go outside this morning.
i really hope this doesn't last too long. i think she may be letting miko closer to her now, but i'm not sure thats a sign of comfort, considering she was closer to him when they had a spat.
in better news, after some time confusion, i got to see
kaligrrrl last night, and really enjoyed it - first, she seriously rocks, and then she's the best conversationalist i know, which made for a fun, interesting and relaxing time.
now, i need to get through today, and cleancleanclean tomorrow before setting off for the holiday adventure.

Date: 2003-12-23 07:43 am (UTC)i guess i was hoping that they'd be awkward for a day or two, and would then start to get along, to the continued troubles seem a bit overwhelming - i'm now trying make it sink in that this is normal
little girl has always been such a trooper, too, that while i knew she would be pissy, her being stressed out is something i wasn't expecting... i'm really hoping the puking thing stops, and will prolly experiment with moving her food dish to somewhere she can get more privacy while eating if its still going on when i get back on thursday.

Date: 2003-12-23 07:59 am (UTC)IME with cats, you need to keep them in separate spaces in the living area until they get used to each other's scent, and then have them meet for only a few minutes at a time, just so they don't kill each other...
Be glad they're doing as well as they are.

Date: 2003-12-23 08:31 am (UTC)i think litle girl might start disliking catnip soon, as i only give it to her when something in her environment is about to go topsy turvy...

Date: 2003-12-23 08:41 am (UTC)Personally I give our cats catnip.
there is actually no physical constituents from the flowers left in the water
If that was true then it would be... water.
