there's a long update to be made...
Dec. 29th, 2003 05:52 pm...but i don't think this'll be it.
i sent the 12-year-old home today; woke up butt early in the morning, T'd to south station, found out that a child's ticket for one travelling alone is *more* expensive then an adult ticket (but, a/the pre-specified adult has/d to sign for her, which makes me giggle) and i got to seat her on the bus. like the good sister that i am, i got her dunkies for breakfast *and* snacks for lunch to take on the bus with her.
which brings me to another point - she's 12, and already watching what she eats, afraid of gaining weight *boggle* she compares her weight to mine (hi, i have less muscle!), and thinks there's some sort of age>weight proportion. i told her i weighed more when i was 16 (which is true) but it didn't seem like she registered it.
we didn't talk as much about her school stuff, but that's because i don't know how to do that without lecturing. and its hard to remember that even though she was well behaved with me, she still pulls temper tantrums at home.
and yeah, even though she was very well behaved, i'm looking forward to a child-free evening tonight : ) i'm craving both time with
sol3 and to sleep alone in my bed, and am very happy to have the former first.
and on that note, i got distracted & will end here...
