being neurotic is waking up at 7:06 (alarm time, 6:36 regular time) to realize that i forgot to set the alarm last night. i then turned on the alarm, which was due to ring in fifteen minutes, and proceeded to hit snooze for an hour.
i really need to teach myself to just get out of bed when i wake up like that, but with how arctic it was in my room this morning, i don't think there was a chance in hell of it happening - i even had my head under my blankets, because warmth seemed more important then oxygen.

last night, i finally made it to yoga after skipping it or not being able to go for around 2 months.
it felt really good to be there and to stretch and use my muscles.
with yoga, i have a very easy time with any poses that require bent knees - to the point where i will sometimes do the most intense version the instructor describes before feeling a stretch (and had a hard time believing that it is harder to squat and keep your feet flat on the floor). but, i have exceedingly tight hamstrings and it took 2+ months of yoga for me to be able to bend down and quickly touch my toes - which was the first time i was able to do so in about 20 years. at the beginning of class, i was disappointed to realize that i could barely get my fingers within a foot of the floor - but by the end, that distance was halved - it was the quickest progress i've ever had. unfortunately, i don't think i'll have an easy time getting beyond the point i was at last time.

have you noticed? travel season is about to begin! as might be expected, my itinerary is already full and my budget... well, lets just say that i'm not allowed to buy anything in the foreseeable future.
but.. the travel! the travel!
i leave for mexico in less then two weeks (which means that i really should locate my passport, which i put elsewhere when i was organizing a couple of months ago, and brush up on some spanish). [livejournal.com profile] tobi and i have our arizona tickets and... umm... wow... i just booked tickets to prague for spring break.
yeah, no shopping for me. for a long time.
but, at this point, there's no turning back - i'm going to prague!!!

:) I also need to train myself into just getting out of bed when I wake up close to the time I need to get up anyway...it's really far less painful to wake up once in a day than twice!

:) Thanks for writing this about yoga! I've been trying to get myself going back and have been rather unsuccessful. Hopefully, you'll have inspired me a bit.

:) It most definitely IS travel season! Geez, you've got a LOT going on! I'm jealous! I'm off to Seattle in less than 2 weeks! :)
