Sep. 16th, 2004 05:33 pmi have a long entry or two to write, and no time to write them.
and, as i'm busy and skimming, i'm finding an increased tendency of making incorrect assumptions about who writes a certain post.
it seems that when someone's user icon does not have their face on it (or something simple and used by them consistently over a long time), i look at the color behind the picture and the post and make an assumption rather then reading the name.
additionally, i assign colors by random gut feelings, which decreases the likelihood that people with very different posting styles are assigned the same color.
typically, i notice my error when i read comments to said entry, and see a comment made by someone i don't associate with the person i think the comment is being made to - and that makes me wonder how many of these incorrect assumptions go unnoticed/uncorrected.
