i keep starting updates and then not finishing them and never posting them.

life's been fairly chill. work's almost calm, but the next storm is on the horizon.

i'm totally failing at working on the psych incomplete. i may give up on starting on that until the new year, because pushing it off seems like a better idea then creating tasks/goals i won't complete. actually, this might work well, as ged gave me this yesterday, and i might take the week to read it. yeah. (thank you!)

there's a bunch of chores that i'm rather behind on, and with all luck, i'll finish them before they bite me in the ass.

goat and i signed up for bostonorganics and got our first box yesterday. it was ill timed, as we're both away for the long weekend, but i was so excited about the box it was kind of silly. and today, i brought an apple into the office.


i'm in nj now. i drove up this afternoon, and the drive went surprisingly well.
i got here, and got to spend the first hour+ playing dress-up on my mom and sister, who're going to a victorian-themed NYE party and are borrowing my clothes to do so. i also got a new sweater from my mom, and she really liked the dresses i got for abi.
then, debbie and i played a game of scrabble, during which dinner guests started arriving.
dinner was really nice - lots of light-hearted chatter, and some snuggles for me. i also noted that my mom's closest friend remembered where i like to sit and that i liked to sit next to her, and when i made it to the table, the seat i usually need to stake out was waiting for me.
eventually, guests left and we had some good conversations, one of which kind of resolved some angst i'd been feeling earlier. it's weird how ...extreme?... my relationship with my stepdad is - some of his views/life-choices make me sick to my stomach, but the focus/care on/for his family move me close to tears when it's directed towards me.

and there was more i wanted to write, but i'm totally spacing it now.

you forgot to turn off your link, btw. but yeah, those organic boxes are awesome. they have one in the bay area too, i've been meaning to try it when i become a rich and famous designer!

is there any chance of luring you out of chicago for next week? I seem to be getting surprising results with this question so far, so if luck is on my side, i might as well keep pushing it, right?

I don't think so. On the other hand, Boston has reached "dan must visit on something resembling a regular basis" mass. What with moominmolly, dilletante, ectophylla, you, fennel, goat, etc etc etc, plus people who aren't even on LJ, such as Professor Vladimir Ilyich Boller, and my cousin (with his child) I have to visit Boston.

i'm sorry, i wasn't clear - i meant visiting boston - not jersey! ...i don't think i could survive a whole week in jersey anymore ; P
