i keep starting journal entries and then not finishing/not posting them.
there was one from Monday, talking about my mellow weekend, and one from yesterday, with pre-trip talk. i'm not sure if i'll have the time and focus to recreate them.

tonight, [livejournal.com profile] sol3 and i fly to paris for our three-year anniversary trip. i'm excited and nervous and jittery and and and...
i never posted about our valentine's day date, but one aspect of it was that we had plans to meet at a restaurant at 7:30. i got there 5 minutes late, and to a notice that the restaurant had closed. i phoned [livejournal.com profile] sol3, to find out that i was waking him up (he was working on paris time that week) - and an hour and a half later, we were seated at another sushi restaurant, cheerfully toasting to being able to handle change in stride.
one of the reasons i'm so nervous about this trip is that it is a big change for me - i'm used to doing such trips on my own and staying in hostels. being in a country where i don't speak the language, with someone else, without an easy way to be social with others and without a kitchen to cook meals in is a bit daunting. but, things like this have been the highlight of our relationship - [livejournal.com profile] sol3 inspires me to push myself, to step forward despite being intimidated and because of this, i'm sure the trip will be both amazing and a great experience.
i'm not sure that i have enough time or words to express how lucky i feel to have someone so wonderful in my life, or how awed i am that it's been this long - [livejournal.com profile] sol3, thank you so much for sharing so much of you with me, and for showing me what so much love, trust and respect feel like.

*warm shmoop fuzzies*

Enjoy Paris. The variety and tastiness of foods sold in tiny groceries, bakeries, wine shops, cheese shops etc. almost wholly make up for lack of kitchen access.
