Mar. 17th, 2005 11:18 amin france, i experienced the good side of stubbornness - despite being sick and limping, i was determined to have a good time and did.
this morning, i experienced the downside. last night, i decided not to throw the second blanket on the bed, because it's spring, damnit. this morning, i woke up really cold and with a cold. hopefully i'll be able to drink this one into submission today.
food for thought from last night is still at the forefront today. it's neat and weird and really scary.
i also predict being highly social next week - especially if i kick this damn cold.

Date: 2005-03-17 04:58 pm (UTC)I don't put much stock in stuff like this but someone handed me a couple of samples to try one day as I was starting to feel that run down icky feeling & it was just like an infomercial. (Miraculous cure! Works like a charm every time! Act now & we'll throw in this FREE fruit dehydrator! er...maybe not that last one...)

Date: 2005-03-17 04:54 pm (UTC)i meant to take a horse pill of vitamin c and echinecea(sp?) this morning and totally spaced it (and the apple i was going to grab for a snack!) when walking out the door.
the good news is that i randomly picked up a box of clementines last night, and the bad news is that i won't be home again till friday.
this also reminds me of something i've been meaning to poke into - a report came out of australia about the dogs there being more sick over the last 10+ years then ever before, and someone pinned it to the introduction of dog food into the country, and thinks that vitamins that are injected into food may not be as easily/readily/properly absorbed then the ones that are naturally in the food we're eating.

Date: 2005-03-17 05:06 pm (UTC)Yep, it's pretty well supported that vitamins that occur naturally in food are easier for the body to handle. Which is why you see such massive amounts in vitamin pills - the hope is that your body will absorb enough of the larger amount to come close to the amount in a naturally occurring substance. Somewhere I had a neat chart that showed the differences for a few common vitamins & minerals...I'll see if I can dig it up again.
