Sep. 9th, 2005 02:23 pmIf spilling a cup of tea on nice white furniture counts as settling in, I'm there. If not, I think I've got a ways to go - most my stuff isn't here yet, and I've yet to make a final decision on storage space. There's two closets in my room, and I want to turn one of them into a built-in dresser, but the one I'd rather use for for that is less suited for it and needs a bit of work before I can get it there. I'm totally into the idea of making something of it, but am weary because I do have two left hands and no experience with projects like this. (Good thing I still have
gaelen's level! ; ) )With all luck, though, I'll have more then half of it figured out and/or done tomorrow.
The kitten here is really cute, and I love having him around, but he also makes me miss little girl quite a bit - I keep wanting to see her green eyes staring back at me.
I haven't quite gotten the hang of living here yet - but it's been less then a week, so hopefully that'll change soon. For one thing, I have no clue as to where to look for stuff to do. It's up there on the list of frustrations with needing to write down directions to any place I want to go - it's such a huge shift from knowing my way around most of boston. I haven't gone real food shopping yet, either - I'm just not sure what food habits I'll end up settling into, and don't want to buy a lot of the same old food just because it's habit.
And, if there's been any doubt about me and the travel bug... well, I'm planning a trip to Israel for January. It'll be a free birthright israel trip, and I'm hoping to finish off the application process tonight and with all luck, it'll be soon enough for me to get in. Before then, I'm also driving down to visit
kittypie (and hopefully see other socal people) in October.
