I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to really gather my thoughts and write about what's been going on.
I'm back from Burning Man, and really glad I attended this year. Getting there late (on Tuesday) threw me off, and off-playa life has been crazy enough that it took me a couple of days to settle into the experience, but boy did I need the break!
Generally speaking, it was a pretty mellow year for me, but that's probably what I needed. I've returned home with some calmness, some perspective, and quite a bit of food for thought.
Now I'm back, but the busy isn't letting up yet. I drove
goat and
tcb to the airport this morning, am getting dinner with some of the remaining campmates tonight, and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of other guests tomorrow night.
And, of course, the biggest news is that I'm moving in less then 2 weeks*.
sol3 and I saw a place that's just perfect for us, and signed the lease before heading off to the playa!
He posted pictures in his entry about it, but in case you missed it, the shots posted in the ad are:

And the pictures really don't do the place justice, I can't wait till
sol3 takes some of his own. I am very excited to be moving back to the land of the sunshine, to be walking distance to BART and a farmer's market, to live with the boy and not be abandoning my cat whenever I spend a couple of days with him. And not necessarily in that order, of course.

Date: 2006-09-06 12:51 am (UTC)I'm not sure how many people you'd need to squeeze into the place to be able to afford 1800 square feet in the city, but my guess is it'd be a lot of bodies to dispose of.
That said, did I mention the less then 5 minute walk to BART? My commute to work will actually be shorter (though sadly, more expensive)

Date: 2006-09-06 12:23 am (UTC)The commute into the city will actually take less time, and with being able to walk home from BART, I'm hoping the move east won't get in the way of my eventual plan to be out and about more.
