home sweet home
Sep. 30th, 2001 10:19 pmi am glad to be back : )
its funny, i no longer feel at "home" at my mom's house, even if their number is listed as"home" on my cell phone. i think it has something to do with not having a room there anymore, and probably with liking where i am actually living.
over the day i have realized that i love my new car : ) it looks pretty and drives really well! it made me remember why, when i had the maxima, i didn't think the drives from here to jersey were that bad. and this car has less then 100,000 miles on it and cupholders!!! (both are firsts for me).
after some discussion with the grandparents, it seems that i owe much less on the car then expected, but that's partially due to the fact that the money that had been put away for my eye surgery was put into the car - which means that if i actually get off my butt & get everything set up for that before paying off the car, i'll have to take out a loan for it. but, as the loan would also up my credit rating, its actually far from a bad deal : )
now, the two things i wish i could change about the car are actually changeable - its just a matter of whether i want to put in the $$ to change them. one is getting a cd player - i'm just not good at making mix tapes, and listening to the radio all the time has its downpoints - i just gotta see how my budget turns out & if/when i could afford to do that. the second is having a keyring-door-lock/unlock thingie. currently, the car locks from the inside, and that leaves me perpetually paranoid that one day i will lock my keys in the car (something my last two car's wouldn't let me do), so if i have a way of locking the car that involves having the keys, i will feel much better. but... putting one of those in is probably expensive, so i am thinking of waiting until i finally live somewhere with offstreet parking, and get that done and a remote starter at the same time... (yes, pipe dream here)
before taking off from NJ, i also dragged my mom shopping with me - i got one dress and three sweaters - which should tide me over for this winter. i just need to find some more skirts, as most of mine have shrunk in length over the years, and hopefully find my red sweater, which wentmissing sometime over the summer.
*yawn* its early, but i am totally beat. methinks i will take a nice hot shower & get to bed. if on;y i could get a massage, too...

Date: 2001-09-30 09:22 pm (UTC)best of luck with the car, too, even tho I already said that. :)
Re: as for the stereo issue...
Date: 2001-10-01 07:29 am (UTC)i just gotta figure out how much those things typically go for (i am pretty tone-deaf, so i don't need a high-end system, but i would like to have a cd player that doesn't skip)
i think just how much of my dash will need to be taken apart may play a large part in the cost, too...
